Today’s blog post is brought to you from a hotel room in London - which is why I will keep it short and sweet because I want to get out and EXPLORE!
I started listening to podcasts last year after discovering a couple of recommendations on Instagram. At about the same time, I decided I was going to walk more - everywhere I could get to in 20 to 30 minutes, I would walk. Boom, perfect combination!
Over time, I realized that I tend to gravitate towards podcasts that are about 40 - 60 min long per episode (longer - too long, shorter - the content just doesn’t cut it), and that include some form of conversation (can be an interview, can be two co-hosts talking to each other).
So - this is what you can expect from my current top three! Without further ado:
- Being Boss: Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon are the perfect pair of quirky co-hosts. Both of them are badass women business owners - and they tend to invite other badass creatives onto their podcast. Their interviews are always thoughtful, super well prepared and with a mixture of amazingly different and very, very interesting creative entrepreneurs. If you’re a small business owner and / or a creative, you like quirky, and are looking for your non-typical, but very actionable business advice: this is for you.
- Have Company: Marlee makes it onto one of my favorites lists again - but this is just too good not to share. She has an artist residency at her shop in Grand Rapids (and recently, she started having over two artists! Wohooo, twice as many podcasts!) and interviews them on their last day of the residency about their experience, what they do and where they go from there. Fascinating personalities, super creative and a joy to listen to.
- Woolful: Ashley (who you also find on IG under the same name) has one of the best podcasts in the fibre world in my opinion. She interview shepherdesses (go listen to the episode to find out what that is ;)), fibre artists, indie yarn dyers, knitters, yarn shop owners - a great mixture of people somehow related to the fibre world. All of them have incredibly interesting stories to share and Ashley has a great way of teasing them out of them by asking very thoughtful questions.
Now it’s over to you! What is your favorite podcast of the moment?
